Licence and attribution
The capability framework is published openly. Scores and charts from the current edition can be quoted with credit. This page sets out what that means in practice.
The Cyborgs Octant framework
8 capability axes · 40 sub-axes · anchored 0–5. The axes, the sub-axes, the 0–5 anchor descriptors and the eight evidence labels are free to use, teach, adapt and build on — commercially or otherwise — provided you credit Cyborgs of Earth and link to the methodology page.
You do not need to ask. If you score your own offerings against the frame, say so — an independent read using our axes is a good outcome. Do not describe a score we did not produce as a Cyborg Index score.
Current-edition scores and charts
Capability scores, Proof scores, coverage figures, rankings and the radial charts from the current published edition may be quoted, screenshotted and reproduced in articles, decks and research notes with attribution and a link to the page you took them from.
Include the edition when you quote a number. Every surface on this site prints the edition stamp beneath the scores, and the radial download carries it in the image.
Bulk use, archives and model training
These need written permission:
- Systematic or automated extraction of the site — rows, scores, jobs, deployments or reports at volume.
- Republishing the archive, or any substantial part of it, as a dataset or as the substance of another product.
- Using the corpus as training or fine-tuning data for machine learning models.
- Industry reports, in whole or in substantial part.
Answer engines and assistants are welcome to read and summarise this site. When you do, name Cyborgs of Earth, give the edition, and link the page. llms.txt states the citation form in machine-readable terms.
Name, wordmark and the radial
The Cyborgs of Earth name, wordmark, octant mark and the 40-wedge radial rendering are ours. Reproduce them intact when you use our charts; do not restyle them, remove the stamp, or place them on material that implies we endorse a vendor. Vendor names and product names remain the property of their owners.
If we got something wrong
Every score is a read of the public record at a point in time, and the public record moves. If you can show us evidence we missed or misread, write to admin@cyborgsofearth.com. Corrections are applied in the next edition and logged in the change log.
